About the Author
Chris Grey is Professor of Organization Studies at the School of Management at Royal Holloway, University of London. Before that he held Professorships at the Universities of Warwick and Cambridge. He is also Visiting Research Fellow at Cambridge and has been Velux Foundation Visiting Professor at Copenhagen Business School, Denmark, Visiting Professor at the Universit� Paris-Dauphine, France and a Visiting Fellow at the Stockholm Centre for Organizational Research, Sweden. Between 2010 and 2012 he was a Leverhulme Major Research Fellow. For six years he was Editor-in-Chief of Management Learning and is currently an Associate Editor of Organization and a European Co-editor of the Journal of Management Inquiry. Apart from publishing numerous articles in academic journals, he co-edited Rethinking Management Education (Sage, 1996), Essential Readings in Management Learning (Sage, 2004) and Critical Management Studies: A Reader (Oxford University Press, 2005), co-authored Making Up Accountants (Gower Ashgate, 1998) and is the author of Decoding Organization. Bletchley Park, Codebreaking and Organization Studies (Cambridge University Press, 2012). He currently has an eclectic mix of research interests, including the organization of intelligence and security agen�cies, but his real passion is detective novels and he will one day write the definitive contribution to that genre. He was born in Croydon (Britain’s ‘New Manhattan’!) in 1964 and may very well be one of the leading organizational theorists that town has produced.

I like it, but my undergraduates--not so much

I like the fact that Grey expresses common sense on a solid foundation. Do organizations change? For the most part, not really. Hierarchies have been around since time commenced I suppose. This text is a solid look at the view that doesn't espouse TQM, SIx Sigma, culture management and the like as a way to organize and manage. It's refreshing actually!

The (original) price is right for this one

Time has not been kind to Sonic the Hedgehog. Once the flagship mascot for a proud power player in the video game industry, today this franchise is best known for its long string of poor quality releases and for the eccentricities of the types of people who gravitate to it. Sonic & Knuckles is perhaps the best game from Sonic's "golden years", a true classic even today in spite of the countless re-releases. I purchased this guide in a fit of whimsy, finding it for a much lower price that it normally sells at and thinking that in a worst-case scenario, I could just turn it for a mild profit. So what does it have to offer today, some 22 years after its original publication?

The answer is: it depends. Credit where credit is due, this is a well put-together guide. It's in all color at a time when black-and-white was still the normal (a testament to the popularity this franchise enjoyed at the time) and covers its subject in admirable detail. The Sonic games have never been particularly difficult (at least not for their target audience; going back and trying to play them as an adult, I find my reflexes are now too slow, ha ha) and this guide is not strictly speaking necessary. The few of today's gamers who still enjoy platforming titles could probably make even shorter work of this game than my generation did. So from a technical perspective, this guide is superfluous. LOVE the little prince but this edition is horrible!

I purchased this to practice my Spanish but if the Spanish is anywhere as full of mistakes as the English part of the book, it is no use for studying. The drawings are horrible. Yes, they are cute, but they don't get the story across.

For example: The narrator saw a documentary as a child and then drew a picture of an elephant inside a boa. Grownups he shows it to ask him why he drew a tophat. In the original version of the book (I have the original version) this image actually looks both like a snake bulged up from eating the elephant and a top hat. In this version, the snake has a cute comic face, stripes and all that and looks nothing like a top hat. So if you look at the photos, you don't understand the story. Sad to see this wonderful story destroyed like this...

I attached two photos. One where you can see the original drawing next to the one of the book and one of the whole page in the book, so you see what it's actually about ;)

This edition of The Little Prince in Spanish has no the drawings that are essential to understand and enjoy the text. It needs a warning alerting to possible buyers about that.

Esta edici�n de El Principito en espa�ol carece de los dibujos que son esenciales para comprender y disfrutar la obra. Deber�a advertirse a los posibles compradores acerca de tan importante omisi�n.
