VERY HELPFUL!!!

I can't express how much of a help this book has been for me. I am taking Anatomy & Physiology which is required for the RN program. This book does not cover everything that is in my textbook, but it does cover the basics, and it is written in a way that I can comprehend it. This book follows the chapters in the same order of my textbook and what I usually do is read the chapter in this book first to understand the basics and then I do the practice tests at the end of the chapter. After I have a good understanding of the material, then I will proceed with my textbook and read the material in it with a better understanding. Also, it helps too if I read the material in this book the night before my class to get a good idea of what the professor will be talking about in his lecture.

My anatomy & physiology class is almost finished and with the help of this book my grades are the following: Quizes-96, 94, 100, 100 and Exams-93, 92, 88, 85. I must admit that science is one of my weaker subjects. In high school I barely passed with a "D". Now I am returning to college to get a degree after many years since high school. Most of my classmates are struggling in Anatomy & Physiology and are wondering how I am doing so well. I continue to remind them to buy this book. Without it, I'd probably be struggling too.

This book was a life saver, I wish I had known about it when I started the class. This books really breaks down the material in an easy to read format. It also comes with a ton of multiple choice and alternate answer review questions. Before I purchased this book I was failing the class, I was able to go from a 56 to a 96 with the help of this book. I highly recommend it!!!!

THIS BOOK IS WONDERFUL!!!!

I am in Anatomy & Physiology 101 in College. I never took either course in high school so this book has been a tremendous help!!! My teacher is very hard and when it comes to exams and quizzes. She does not give you much of an idea on what to study, so you are expected to know EVERYTHING!!!! My first exam covered Chapters 1 - 5 and the only time I opened my College Textbook was to study diagrams and review questions at the end of each chapter....that's it! I only read this book, completed the test questions at the end of each chapter in this book, studied my class lecture notes and studied the review questions that are on the computer lab. I received an "A" on the exam when the majority of the class failed! All I can say is that this book has been a wonderful tool and I highly recommend it to everyone! It follows my textbook chapter by chapter, terminology is much easier to understand in this book, and I can not say enough good things about it! I will definitely keep using this book through Anatomy 101 and also when I continue into Anatomy 102! Highly, highly recommend!

The Freud-Klein Controversies is one of her best-known books, translated into many different languages. She is also the editor of No Ordinary Psychoanalyst: The Exceptional Contributions of John Rickman (2003, Karnac).

The central characters in this book are Melanie Klein and Anna Freud, two outstanding pioneers of child analysis, who had emerged in 1925. Skipping forward to 1941 we find the controversy to have a larger popluation in the form of three camps – pro-Freud, pro-Klein and neutral. The pro-Freud members were Edward Glover, Melitta and Walter Schmideberg, Willi and Hedwig Hoffer, Barbara Low, Dorothy Burlingham, Barbara Lantos and Kate Friedlander; the pro-Klein members were Susan Isaacs, Joan Riviere, Paula Heimann, Donald Winnicott; and the neutral members were Ernest Jones, Silvia Payne, Ella Sharpe, Marjorie Brierley, William Gillespie, John Bowlby, James Strachey, Michael Balint, and Adrian and Karin Stephen. The essence of the controversey revolved around the question of whether the child developed a true transference. Anna Freud felt that children were too young to shift away from the original family members, whereas Melanie Klein held that they could be analyzed through their transference-resistance reactions in much the same way as adults were analyzed. Anna Freud also believed in the use of educational devices with both child and parent, whereas Melanie Klein stuck strictly to analytic methods. Considering that Melanie Klein had only a secondary education while Anna Freud was trained as a teacher, the results of the controversey were phenomenal, e.g., John Bolby and Attachment Theory.

About the Author
Wanda Bolton-Davis, is a multi-gifted speaker, teacher, author, soloist and church consultant. She is founder and Executive Director of Victorious Disciples Ministries, Inc., a discipleship training, leadership development and mentoring ministry. She has earned degrees from University of Texas Southwestern Medical School, University of Texas at Arlington, Truett Theological Seminary and is currently a doctoral candidate at Talbot School of Theology. She and her family reside in the Dallas/Fort Worth metroplex.

SPIRITUAL GROWTH!!!

This book is great for women that are SERIOUS about their desire to grow spiritually. It's not a "bible study" book per se. But the idea is for you to take the biblical principals provided in this book, and apply them to your daily living. It is encouraged that you do go over each lesson once a month for 12 months or once a week for 12 weeks. The objective is to bring you to a point where you can walk in VICTORY no matter what situations may arise. AND we are commissioned to be disciples and disciple leaders. So, once you go through the lessons, it would be great if you could take what has been poured into you, and pour into someone else's life. IF EVERYONE DISCIPLES ONE, THEN EVERYONE WILL BE DISCIPLED!!!

This book is fantastic for discipleship!

I ordered this book for one-on-one discipleship and the lessons it contains and the format is great. You can do a lesson all in one sitting or break it up just as easily, and i love the way you do the work by subject rather than all at once. This book has just the right depth to reach a wide range of spiritual maturities.

About the Author
Barry has enjoyed teaching mathematics to a wide variety of students over the years. He began in the fi eld of adult basic education and moved into the teaching of high school mathematics in 1977. He taught high school math for 11 years, at which point he served as a K-12 mathematics specialist for his county. This work allowed him the opportunity to help promote the emerging NCTM standards in his region.

In 1990, Barry began the next portion of his career, having been hired to teach at Clackamas Community College. He maintains a strong interest in the appropriate use of technology and visual models in the learning of mathematics.

Throughout the past 32 years, Barry has played an active role in professional organizations. As a member of OCTM, he contributed several articles and activities to the group’s journal. He has presented at AMATYC, OCTM, NCTM, ORMATYC, and ICTCM conferences. Barry also served 4 years as an offi cer of ORMATYC and participated on an AMATYC committee to provide feedback to revisions of NCTM’s standards.

Stefan began teaching math and science in New York City middle schools. He also taught math at the University of Oregon, Southeast Missouri State University, and York County Technical College. Currently, Stefan is a member of the mathematics faculty at Clackamas Community College where he has found a niche, delighting in the CCC faculty, staff, and students. Stefan’s own education includes the University of Michigan (BGS, 1988), Brooklyn College (CUNY), and the University of Oregon (MS, 1996).

Stefan is currently serving on the AMATYC Executive Board as the organization’s Northwest Vice President. He has also been involved with ORMATYC, NEMATYC, NCTM, and the State of Oregon Math Chairs group, as well as other local organizations. He has applied his knowledge of math to various fi elds, using statistics, technology, and web design. More personally, Stefan and his wife, Peggy, try to spend time enjoying the wonders of Oregon and the Pacifi c Northwest. Their activities include scuba diving, self-defense training, and hiking.

Don began teaching in a preschool while he was an undergraduate. He subsequently taught children with disabilities, adults with disabilities, high school mathematics, and college mathematics. Although each position offered different challenges, it was always breaking a challenging lesson into teachable components that he most enjoyed.

It was at Clackamas Community College that he found his professional niche. The community college allowed him to focus on teaching within a department that constantly challenged faculty and students to expect more. Under the guidance of Jim Streeter, Don learned to present his approach to teaching in the form of a textbook. Don has also been an active member of many professional organizations. He has been president of ORMATYC, AMATYC committee chair, and ACM curriculum committee member. He has presented at AMATYC, ORMATYC, AACC, MAA, ICTCM, and a variety of other conferences.

About the Author
Yukiko Abe Hatasa received her Ph.D. in linguistics in 1992 from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. She has taught all levels of Japanese for over twenty-five years, and has worked on curriculum development and teacher training in five major institutions in the US, Australia, and Japan. She is known nationwide as one of the premier Japanese methodologists in the US and Japan. She is currently a professor of Japanese pedagogy at Hiroshima University.

Kazumi Hatasa received his Ph.D. in education in 1989 from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. He is currently a professor at Purdue University and Director of the Japanese School at Middlebury College. He is recognized internationally for his work in software development for the Japanese language and distributes most of his work as freeware over the Internet.

Seiichi Makino received his Ph.D. in linguistics in 1968 from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. He is an internationally prominent Japanese linguist and scholar who is recognized throughout the world for his scholarship and for his many publications. Before beginning his tenure at Princeton University in 1991, he taught Japanese language, linguistics, and culture at the University of Illinois while training lower division language coordinators. He is an experienced ACTFL oral proficiency trainer in Japanese and frequently trains Japanese instructors internationally in proficiency-oriented instruction and in the administration of the Oral Proficiency Interview. Professor Makino has been the Academic Director of the Japanese Pedagogy M.A. Summer Program at Columbia University since 1996. He also directs the Princeton-in-Ishikawa Summer Program. In 2014, the Japanese government honored Dr. Seiichi Makino with a decoration: The Order of the Sacred Treasure, Gold Rays with Neck Ribbon, for his outstanding contributions in the mutual academic exchanges between Japan and the United States and the development of Japanese language education.

very thin, pretty simple

This contains the kind of riddles that go: a man is found on a wooden floor, dead, with no marks on him except the number 18 written on his right hand. The game is to pose the riddle to people who ask you yes/no questions to try to figure what happened.
This book is OK, but the riddles are a bit simple (perhaps appropriate for 10 year olds), and there are not a lot of them, only 1 per page for its 20 pages.

Keep this when you find your lesson went quicker than expected; you have a few minutes left but not enough time to get started on something new - perfect to maintain attention for all ages; I have used this middle school through adult. Also works great when you are waiting to dismiss students and cannot start something new.

My daughter asked for this book after she was introduced to the "Stories with Holes" series at school. The stories are clever and fun and we have enjoyed them, but the book felt a bit short on content for the money. We probably won't purchase any additional volumes unless the price is reduced.

I have been a pastor for years and have struggled with these issues, why do people leave a church. Is it me? What did I say? What did I do? What or who did what to who and what and so forth. And this puzzling question that so many claim to have an answer to and in fact do not: How do you grow a church? I saw churches grow when they should not have. I seen churches flourish when they should not have and I scratch and scratch my head wondering what is up with this? Now there is not only an answer to these questions that is real and valuable, there are answers on how I can improve myself, my church and grow a church for God's glory. This book is not just musings and theories, it is real researched and practical help. It is biblical! I am amazed on the countless in context scripture references most in the index. In fact I paid thousands of dollars for a consultant and did not get a fraction of the practical help krejcir has in his book. James Proctor is a freelance travel writer and author of several guides to Scandinavia including Bradt's Faroe Islands. He divides his time between the South of France and his log cabin in the heart of the Swedish forest.

A highly-indented coastline of barren, tundra fells backed by monumental fjords, towering snow-capped mountains and rocky, windswept islands, makes Norwegian Lapland one of the most scenically rewarding places to travel in the whole of Europe. Quite unlike the densely forested heartlands of Swedish and Finnish Lapland where spruce and pine trees dominate the landscape, these coastal lands at the top of Europe, buffeted by the Arctic winds, are either completely void of trees or slavishly support a few dwarf species that have become specially adapted to the ferocious climate. It’s a place where snow storms and blizzards sweeping in off the Arctic Ocean can persist for days during the long, dark winter, yet equally a land of exquisite beauty in spring and summer when the delicate flowers of the Arctic burst forth, profiting from the relentless 24hr daylight of the Midnight Sun. The unforgiving geography of Norwegian Lapland is at its most awe-inspiring in the west, where the mountain chain reaches dizzying heights of 1700m. Further east, the landscapes become less agitated, slowly falling away, to be replaced with plateaux of grey, weather-beaten rocks which slip effortlessly into the steely waters of the Arctic Ocean.

Not very extensive

I was excited to get this book a couple months before my vacation to Finnish Lapland. However I'm a bit underwhelmed. First I noticed a small mistake: they list the airport code to Kittil� as KTL, but it's actually KTT. That's not a big deal. But then was disappointed to find that they don't even mention the area I'm going to visit. Yll�s is the largest ski area in Finland in terms of number of ski runs/slopes and lifts. There is no mention of it at all is this book. It's in between 2 villages: Yll�sj�rvi and �k�slompolo, both of which have local tour guides offering husky, reindeer and snowmobile safaris. No mention of these towns or tour operators either. They do mention Levi, which has the largest ski village and more amenities than Yll�s. There's probably a lot of good info in this book, but if you're going to Finnish Lapland, I think you'd be better off buying the Lonely Planet Finland guide.

The best guide we could find for visiting Northern Sweden and Norway

Of the three books we bought for our trip to Northern Sweden and Norway in January to see the Aurora Borealis, this was the best. The others were more general and had very little information on this zone.
